Robert Price, born in 1987, is a self taught photographer from Machynlleth. Although his background is in science, having graduated with an astronomy based degree from Aberystwyth University, he has always had an interest in art, and has worked at MOMA Wales (now MOMA Machynlleth) since 2009.
Robert’s first has been entering art competitions for several years, most notably the 2015 Tabernacle Art Competition where his photograph of the Milky Way arching above a solitary tent was voted for by the public as the winner of the Ailsa Owen Memorial Prize. Robert has also undertaken a few commissions such as taking photographs of Machynlleth and Dolgellau Farmers Marts for “Gwybod Gwerth Cydweithio”, a book Celebrating 60 years of Farmers Marts (RG Jones) Cyf.
In January 2016 Robert has his first exhibition at MOMA Machynlleth. Titled Flosculus, the exhibition consists of a series of macro photographs of tiny flowers, photographed against different brightly coloured backgrounds.
