Hi, I’m Robert. I’m a self taught photographer from Machynlleth. Although my background is in science, having graduated with an astronomy based degree from Aberystwyth University, I have always had an interest in art, and since 2009 I’ve worked at MOMA Machynlleth (formerly MOMA Wales).

I have been entering art competitions for several years, most notably the 2015 Tabernacle Art Competition where my photograph of the Milky Way arching above a solitary tent was voted for by the public as the winner of the Ailsa Owen Memorial Prize, and again in 2022 when my photo of the Milky Way above Dolbadarn Castle in Llanberis, North Wales (as seen above), once again won the Ailsa Owen Memorial Prize.

In January 2016 I had my first exhibition at MOMA Machynlleth. Titled Flosculus, the exhibition consists of a series of macro photographs of tiny flowers, photographed against different brightly coloured backgrounds.
